When novice church minister Ashley is under financial pressure, she decides to take in a lodger - nice professional lady - except the applicant who wheedles his way in is smooth-talking Stuart, who won’t tell her what he does and generally makes her ministry, shall we say difficult. Of course they’ll end up together, that’s no surprise, but how, when all they do is argue?

Author's Notes

I wanted to write a feelgood play, which I've never done before. The nearest thing to this kind of play is writing pantomime, though the styles are totally different, of course. But certain elements of the plot are the same - Boy meets girl and everyone knows that, in the end, they'll be together, yet  everything and everyone, including each other, seem fated to spoil the (inevitable) ending. There's nothing to offend any churchgoers in here, perhaps the opposite, but neither is it a religious play in any way. It makes no judgments; it just (hopefully) leaves its audience with a warm, safe smile as they leave the theatre.

Past Productions

I have recently started adding production photos, posters, etc. If your group has done this play and have any I can use, please contact me.
